🇮🇱IDF spokesman to foreign media: "We will ensure the safe return of the Israelis to their homes in northern Israel, this is not subject to negotiation". The full translation is attached: The terrorist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon is escalating its attacks against Israel. Since deciding to join the war that Hamas started on October 7, Hezbollah has fired over 5,000 rockets, anti-tank missiles and armed UAVs from Lebanon at Israeli families, homes and communities. Hezbollah's increasing aggression brings us to the brink of what could be a wider escalation - one that could have devastating consequences for Lebanon and the region. Hezbollah endangers the future of Lebanon, so that it can be a shield for Hamas. A shield for the Hamas terrorists who murdered the elderly, raped women, burned children and kidnapped Jews, Muslims and Christians, during their October 7 massacre. When we say we will not let October 7th happen again on any of our borders - we mean it. Because of Hezbollah's refusal to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, because of Hezbollah's military infrastructure, the shooting and fire at Israel from the area south of the Litani River in southern Lebanon, and because of Lebanon's failure to enforce 1701 on Hezbollah - Israel will take all necessary measures to protect its citizens, until security is restored at the Lebanese border. In one way or another - we will ensure the safe return of the Israelis to their homes in northern Israel. It is not negotiable. Iran's terrorist affiliates continue to drag the region into destruction. Israel will continue to fight against Iran's axis of evil on all fronts, in Gaza and Lebanon, while we work towards a safer future for the Middle East. October 7th cannot happen again - in any of Israel's borders. Israel has the duty to protect its citizens. We will fulfill this duty - at any cost.

🇮🇱Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: What will change tonight, citizens of Israel? *That on this night, 133 of our dear brothers and sisters are not brought to the Seder table, and are still imprisoned in the inferno of Hamas.* We have already freed 124 of our abductees and we are committed to returning them all home - the living and the spaces alike. And what won't change tonight? that in every generation our brides rise above us, and the Holy One, blessed be He, saves us from them. *Unfortunately, until now, all proposals for the release of our abductees have been outright rejected by Hamas.* That is why the American Secretary of State rightly said: "Hamas has refused all proposals submitted to it." According to him, the only thing preventing a deal to release the abductees is Hamas. *Instead of retreating from its extreme positions, Hamas builds on division within us, it derives encouragement from the pressures directed at the Israeli government. As a result, he only tightens his conditions for the release of our abductees. He weighs down his heart, and refuses to send our people.* *Therefore, we will land additional and painful blows on him - and it will happen soon.* In the coming days we will increase the military and political pressure on Hamas because this is the only way to free our hostages and achieve our victory. As our soldiers are united to protect us on the battlefield, we are united to protect them on the political field.

What taxes do individual entrepreneurs pay in Israel? Many beginning individual entrepreneurs and not only have a great confusion about this. I will try to clarify. There are three taxes and three organizations that have different laws and rules. These are VAT (מע"מ), income tax (מס הכנסה) and national insurance (ביטוח לאומי). These three organizations have different rules and laws. VAT. With VAT, you can register as an ossek patur or an ossek mursheh. An ossek patur does not pay VAT and cannot deduct VAT. An ossek mursheh pays VAT and can deduct VAT. A business can register as an ossek patur if the expected turnover in 2024 is up to 120 thousand shekels and it is not a representative of the liberal professions working in the profession, such as engineers, doctors, psychologists, etc. The ossek patur has an annual obligation with respect to VAT, to file an ossek patur declaration in January, where he indicates the turnover for the past year. The ossek mursheh submits a VAT report once a month or every two months, depending on the turnover. The ossek mursheh pays VAT (currently 17%) on turnover and can deduct VAT on expenses. A necessary condition for deducting VAT on an expense is receiving a tax invoice in the name of the ossek mursheh and in case it is a recognized expense. Exports and export services are exempt from VAT payment with some restrictions and can deduct VAT on purchases. Income tax. From the point of view of income tax, there is no such thing as an ossek patur or ossek mursheh, but there is an individual entrepreneur (עצמאי). Income tax is calculated as the difference between tax liability and tax credits. The tax liability is calculated in accordance with the tax brackets (מדרגות מס) into which the tax base is entered. The tax base is the profit, i.e. income minus recognized expenses. Tax benefits are primarily tax credits (נקודות זיכוי), as well as pensions, certain places of residence, etc. Each tax credit gives 2,904 shekels per year in tax deduction in 2024. By the way, contrary to the widespread belief that taxes in Israel are high, more than half of Israel's population does not pay income tax at all because their amount of tax benefits exceeds their tax liability. A lot of income tax is paid by the 10% of highest earning citizens, and especially those who are among the 1% most wealthy. National Insurance (Bituach Leumi). There are two forms of registration for an individual entrepreneur with Bituach Leumi. The first is an individual entrepreneur (עצמאי), and the second is an individual entrepreneur who does not meet the definitions (עצמאי שאינו עונה על הגדרות). Understanding who, when and how can register and how to optimally register in each case can save thousands, and sometimes tens of thousands of shekels.

America cheerleads Israel down a road to damnation [..]While Israel’s leaders dismiss claims of genocide and have insisted that their campaign against Hamas is justified under the right of self-defence, the ruling will be seen as another important data point in the accumulation of evidence against the way Israel is conducting the war. Israel’s diplomatic isolation – recognised as a reality by senior White House officials – is likely to have a widening impact, as it has also exposed the increasingly weak and contradictory leadership of the Biden administration on the issue as countries have broken ranks with the US-led post-Oslo consensus that has reigned for decades. The ruling also poses practical problems for Washington’s support for Israel in the courts. With both of the top international courts in lockstep, the White House is in danger of signalling that its long-term insistence on the primacy of international law is hollow when it comes to protecting its allies. Even more complicated for the Biden administration is that the ruling underlines what has become an international consensus, shared by the US: that an immediate ceasefire, at the very least, is required to protect civilian life. The unanswered question is what it will mean for Netanyahu and for Israel.
